Last Thursday, July 17th, the Xel-Ha Natural Wonder website obtained the Sello de Confianza (Confidence Seal) certification on behalf of the Mexican Internet Association (AMIPCI), committing the company to fulfil norms on behalf of the AMIPCI’s Code of Ethics, carry out applicable legal regulations, and to establish a privacy policy that adheres to APEC (Asian Pacific Economic Cooperative) statutes.

The Confidence Seal is a distinction awarded by the AMIPCI to Mexican websites, through an electronic seal with a unique digital certificate attachment, acknowledging the businesses and institutions that endorse fulfilment of information privacy norms and enjoy legitimate establishment.

Mexico City’s Environment and Natural Resources Secretary, Juan Rafael Elvira Quesada, awarded this year’s National Acknowledgement for Residue Recycling to Xel-Ha Natural Wonder, in Quintana Roo, for the remarkable operation of its Recollection, Transfer, and Integral Management of Solid Waste Centre, which was received on behalf of the company by its Executive Director, Elizabeth Lugo Monjarras.

Xel-Ha Natural Wonder was granted first place in the Special Residue Management Category with the Recollection Centre Project, where the gathering of separation of 234 tonnes of waste occurs annually, channelling over 70% of this material to recycling.

Surrounded by the extraordinarily air of mysticism inspired by the Mayan legend of the Chacah Garden, celebrities Eric del Castillo, Lidia Avila, Maya Karuna, and Sergio Mayer took part in a thrilling ceremony to commemorate Tree Day, each planting their own Chacah, and uniting to give a common message so that society may join in the endeavour to preserve the environment, for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations.

During her statement, on behalf of the board of directors of Xel-Ha and its employees, entrepreneur Carlos Constandse emphasised the impact of the movement begun in 2006 to sow awareness about the importance of caring for our planet’s natural resources, and has been astonishingly well-embraced, as almost a hundred celebrities from all reaches of public life, music, the arts, sports, intellectuals, and public speakers in Mexico, have planted their tree in the Chacah Garden.

Employees of Xel-Ha, Mexico’s Natural Wonder, received their certificate for concluding their primary and secondary school degrees, as well as an economic grant, after having finished the proper evaluations required by the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA).

During the act led by Francisco Javier Novelo Ordoñez, head of the INEA in Quintana Roo, Xel-Ha’s executive director, Elizabeth Lugo Monjarras remarked on the importance of maintaining the necessary support for employees to continue with their academic preparation, “since it is never too late to learn;” work that has been carried on from 13 years until now. With this achievement, Xel-Ha has at last reached the 100% mark in alphabetising its 500-plus employees, with at least a primary school away.

While professing Xel-Ha’s commitment to projects allowing the development of Chemuyil Community, a strong mission since 1997, Executive Director for the Natural Wonder, Elizabeth Lugo Monjarras, cut the inaugural ribbon for the perimeter wall of the Children’s Garden for this community.

Thanks to this new public work endorsed by Xel-Ha with a $65 thousand MXP donation, preschool alumni will enjoy a safer stay at the Children’s Garden, since the property was previously only fenced with wire mesh, which was already in an advanced state of deterioration.
