Actress Liz Gallardo, Diego Luna’s love interest in the 2008 film “The Night Buffalo,” (based on the novel of Guillermo Arriaga, author and screenwriter, and directed by the Venezuelan filmmaker Jorge Hernandez Aldana), visited Xel-Ha Natural Park to partake in the environmental movement that, from the Chacah Garden, is spreading throughout Mexico and the world.

The stunning actress planted her Chacah tree in the same spot where a great many celebrities have carved their messages in favour of a harmonious relationship between man and nature. There, she prayed: “May the four elements: fire, earth, air, water, bless this earth full of peace, light, and love, and may the magic of the cosmos light up the universe of every human being,” after a moving ceremony during which she entrusted Xel-Ha with the care of her own tree, which she christened Cauac, meaning storm. She also wrote down the following phrase “Galactic Blue Storm,” in reference to the universal vision of time and space attributed to Mayan culture, which she admires and relates to.

Liz Gallardo, originally from Guadalajara, began her first ventures into cinema in Carlos Marcovich’s documentary entitled “Cuatro Labios;” she likewise performed the role of Mona Lisa in the serial “Prisionera,” a Telemundo production. She also participated in the Sundance Independent Film Festival, having played, for the movie Mancora, directed by Ricardo de Montreuil and a Peru-Spain-USA triple production, the role of a Mexican woman.

During her stay in Xel-Ha, she swam in the inlet and wandered through its amazing open spaces. “This is an incomparable experience, well worth enjoying,” she remarked happily.
