Xel-Ha and Epson award winners of the Nature & Humankind Photo Contest
Posted by: dvillacis in News feature, Special EventsDuring the inauguration of the “Humankind in Coexistence with Nature” exhibition at the Epson Gallery in Mexico City, of 21 selected opuses from 4th photography contest sponsored by Xel-Ha and Epson. Innovative perspectives of the world, showing different aspects and situations of human-natural coexistence were the main elements required by the companies, aiming to use these images as a way of spreading a conscience for the healthy interaction between humankind and our environment.
As a way to encourage creativity with digital media resources, Epson inaugurated the exhibition in its corporate gallery after reviewing over 2000 entries. Cecilia Garro, Xel-Ha’s head of marketing, alongside colleagues from the Park, were assigned the task of evaluating the pictures to choose the top three, which were chosen for their relevance to the contest’s central concept rather than for their use of professional technique.
After a screening process that evaluated several characteristics of each picture, including their relevance to the topic “Humankind in Coexistence with Nature,” originality, composition, among others, the top 21 pictures were chosen, as well as the three winners among them. The awarding ceremony took place in the Epson Gallery within the Mexican capital, as the exhibition was inaugurated. Epson and Xel-Ha Natural Wonder proudly present the winners:

Marcel Quevedo Salceda, coordinator for the Epson Digital Gallery, remarked regarding the alliance with Xel-Ha: “From over four years ago, Xel-Ha approached Epson to consolidate this alliance, co-sponsoring this contest and taking part in exhibiting the pictures in our gallery.”
Epson and Xel-Ha, as part of their constant efforts to help spread a conscience of social and ecological responsibility, give a heartfelt thanks to all participants for their interest and contributions to this contest. Each of these pictures represent a captured instant in time, a memory, and memories are the very foundation of human conscience. If every human being harbours in his or her memory a moment of harmony with nature, the possibility of creating an enduring conscience of ecological responsibility shines brighter than ever.
The “Humanity in Coexistence with Nature” exhibition will be on display at the Epson Gallery in Mexico City from September the 2nd until the 13th, and will thereafter be shown at the 4th Expression Forum in Cancun, from the 25th to the 27th of the same month.
