Equality between men and women is fundamental to sustainability: Lugo
Posted by: dvillacis in News featureWhile explaining that the right to equal opportunities between men and women is fundamental to sustainable development, Xel-Ha’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Lugo Monjaraz declared this company to be among the first acknowledged worldwide with the Gender Equity Certificate, granted by the National Women’s Institute, carrying with it the responsibility to work constantly to achieve this goal.
This event, within the context of the Human Capital congress organised by Uniglobal, which offers professional university certification services directed towards tourism industry professionals, academics, students, and the general public. Elizabeth Lugo was among the spokespersons to participate and share their professional experience on the Gender Equity subject. She was accompanied by business leaders and academics with relevant subjects such as Ethics in Service and World Quality Service.
Referring to Xel-Ha’s experience in gender equity, Ms. Lugo emphasised the endeavours to institutionalise policy and endorse equality in opportunities for both men and women, in issues such as access to employment, work conditions, professional development, training, and participation in decision-making procedures. Xel-Ha is an organisation that has adopted MEG (the Gender Equity Model) since 2004.
Elizabeth Lugo Monjarras has a thorough background on the subject, having obtained her Company Management bachelor’s degree at the Southern Anahuac University, with a Diplomacy in Strategic Negotiation, and Negotiation Workshop by Harvard, through Cancun’s Anahuac University.
